Johnny Wicker enters his second season as a volunteer support staff for the White House Blue Devils, helping with the varsity on defense and primarily focusing on the freshman athletes at WHHS.

Wicker and his wife, Penny, have been married 25 years and involved extensively in football in the city of White House. In addition to working with the White House Quarterback Club, Johnny was also the commissioner of White House Junior Pro Football for five years and started volunteering with the program when his son was eight years old.

Grant was a standout tailback at White House who graduated in 2013, known for his toughness and leadership on the field on his way to several Player of the Year awards in the district and the county, leading the Blue Devils to the Class 4-A quarterfinals. Their oldest child, Kelly, is four years older than Grant and graduated from Merrol Hyde Magnet School.

Johnny attended Volunteer State Community College and graduated Beech High School in 1982, playing safety and wide receiver, after moving to Sumner County from East Tennessee. He works for Waste Management corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, traveling extensively and working out of his home. He is specialized in hazardous waste disposal and manages employees and factories in his specific field for his company.
