Harpeth (3-3, 1-1 District 9-AA) at White House (4-2, 2-1)

Kickoff at 7:30 p.m. at Dewey H. Whitson Stadium

Last week: Harpeth suffered a 24-3 loss to visiting Greenbrier. White House suffered a 15-6 loss to White House Heritage in a game played at Vanderbilt Stadium.

Last meeting between the two teams: The Blue Devils claimed a 31-0 victory at Harpeth last season.

With four weeks remaining in the regular season, the race for the two automatic playoff spots in District 9-AA still involves numerous teams. White House and Harpeth are both among the contenders.

The Blue Devils’ loss to cross-town rival White House Heritage established the Patriots as the frontrunner in the district.

White House had a 6-3 lead with nine minutes to play, but couldn’t hold on for the victory, falling to their second straight loss.

Junior quarterback Steven Rankin had the Blue Devils’ only score, a 3-yard plunge on a quarterback sneak.

The Patriot defense limited White House to 177 yards of offense (98 rushing and 79 passing), while the White House Heritage offense rushed for 207 yards on 45 carries.

The Patriots controlled the clock in the second half, the Blue Devils were only able to take 14 offensive snaps in the third and fourth quarters.

The Indians never got going against the Bobcat defense as Greenbrier limited Harpeth to 180 yards of total offense. Senior quarterback Jett Brinkley completed just 9 of 25 pass attempts and was intercepted once.

Drake Fullum led the Indian rushing attack with 44 yards on nine carries.

Harpeth can stay in the race for second with a victory but will likely fall out of contention with a loss.

The Blue Devils, having already defeated Greenbrier (which is also at 2-1 in the district) this season, would remain in second place with a victory.
