Marching 20 plays, 77 yards, the Blue Devils scored after a 10-minute possession with Steven Rankin plunging in for a quarterback sneak. Rankin’s seventh career touchdown came on senior night and Logan Trimmer tied the game with the extra point.

“One of our goals is a 13-play drive and that was certainly impressive,” Porter said. “We had to convert on 4th-and-1 four times including the touchdown and that’s the kind of football we have established at White House for many years.”

Trimmer, though, missed two field goals in the game and the Blue Devils struggled to get the ball into the red zone until the youngsters from White House capped the margin with a touchdown drive. The senior kicker has had a tremendous season, but also had a punt blocked in the game.

In any scenario, the losers are done for the year. Pearl-Cohn and Springfield are both undefeated in Region 5-4A and will play for first and second place.
